The International Doctoral Innovation Centre Scholarship University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), China

The International Doctoral Innovation Centre (IDIC) established in UNNC in 2012 is a venture represents an initial 170 million RMB (£17 million) investment by the University of Nottingham and its pioneering campus the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Ningbo Bureau of Education, Ningbo Bureau of Science and Technology, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, UK (EPSRC) and China’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST)

The Centre is immersed within Nottingham’s vibrant Doctoral Training Centres at the forefront of UK doctoral education to train 100 of the brightest young PhD researchers in six years. They will become future leaders to transform, invent and implement technologies to address China’s national priorities and global challenges. It will also establish long-term international co-operation research and innovation programmes across the two nations.

The Centre strives to achieve significant outputs in terms of publications, intellectual property and business engagement.

There are 2 strands for IDIC: Digital Economy and Energy.  For the 2015/2016 admission, the Centre will take in 20 students for each strand, and the application is open to applicants from all over the world.

Applicants who are offered will naturally be granted a full scholarship, with 1st year in UNUK to take course modules and research training, and 3 years in UNNC.
